Today’s youth are already the driving force behind many social change initiatives across the country, including the progression of the “future of work.”

From September 8 to 11, 120 youth delegates, aged 18-29, from communities across the country will come together to learn, share, and network with peers and mentors during ffwd2020, a virtual summit by and for youth.

Hosted by CFC, Youthful Cities and RBC Future Launch, the four-day virtual summit will connect young people from across the country and provide a unique opportunity for youth to grow their network, build on their experience, develop their careers and advance solutions for the future of their communities.

Application Options

Interested candidates are able to submit an application form, or submit an application video of your own design. When putting together your video, reflect on the following questions:

  • How do you contribute to your community?
  • What are you passionate about when it comes to your community work?
  • What inspires you about the possibilities of the future?
  • And anything else you’d like to share that’s central to your identity?

To submit a video application, please email us at communications@communityfoundations.ca, and we can pass along a secure dropbox for your application. If necessary, phone call applications will also be accepted. Application materials are available in both English and French

Delegate Logistics

Delegates will be invited to participate in a pre-summit online learning community to set priorities and determine summit content. Delegates will be compensated for their participation in the online community and during the summit at a flat rate of $500. Additionally, a remote connection stipend (up to $250 per delegate) will be offered to those joining remotely that incur additional expenses through their participation. Delegates that end up hosting sessions as facilitators will be offered additional compensation.

After submitting an application, delegates will be contacted in July. Selected delegates will be required to complete a 10-15-minute interview to determine eligibility and success. Successful candidates will begin a flexible program on-boarding at the end of July until the beginning of August.

This unique skills-building opportunity is an immersive experience for youth already engaged in social change movements, as well as those looking to get involved and learn more.

Applications for #ffwd2020 are now closed. Selected candidates will be contacted by the end of July.
