Dine with conference colleagues at some of Ottawa’s best restaurant hot spots, all within walking distance of The Westin Ottawa Hotel. Join us along the banks of the Ottawa river, one of Canada’s most storied historical sites to celebrate our sesquicentennial and experience this vast and changing land we all call home.
The Riverbank Rendez-vous, organized by the Community Foundation of Ottawa will be a night to remember as we gather at the Canadian Museum of History in the spectacular Grand Hall, which offers an introduction to the history, cultures and beliefs of the First Peoples of Canada’s Pacific Coast. With its curving six-story window wall and unrivaled view of Parliament Hill, the Grand Hall is one of the country’s most impressive indoor event spaces, and the Museum’s architectural centrepiece.
As the country’s most visited museum, the Canadian Museum of History is itself an architectural gem set on the picturesque banks of the Ottawa River. With the world’s largest indoor collection of totem poles and exhibits that explore the traditions and achievements of Canada’s First Peoples, it offers a rare glimpse into the events, experiences, people and objects that have shaped our history and present day.
We’ll spend an evening of fun and exploration through Canada’s rich past as we enjoy local Indigenous entertainment and homegrown food and drinks. Don’t miss this chance to mix, mingle and immerse yourself in early Canadian culture and history along the shores of the mighty Ottawa.
